Dutch cos for collaboration with J-K entrepreneurs for exports
Dutch companies are interested in joint collaboration with local entrepreneurs here for the export of fruits, flowers, honey, mushroom and saffron from Jammu and Kashmir.
Wolff is leading a delegation of the Netherlands government officials on a three-day tour to the state.
The team had arrived here on on October 16 to seek joint ventures in agriculture, horticulture, floriculture and allied sectors.
Wolff made the remarks during a meeting with officers of the agriculture and horticulture departments of the state at Raj Bagh here today, an official spokesman said.
He said that quality standards of the agriculture and horticulture produce must be improved as there is huge competition in the international market.
He also advised the officers to work more closely with the farmers for better quality production.
Wolff also stressed the need for training the farmers and assured the officers as well as growers of all possible help from the Consulate for joint ventures with Dutch companies, the spokesman said.
The Secretary to the state government on agricultural production, Tanveer Jehan told the Counselor that the government was working for the development of infrastructure to establish export oriented agri-horti industry.
Some of the crops which are of high value and are thriving well in Jammu and Kashmir only should be marketed well in the international market, she said.
