Delegation from Florida to visit India next month

A delegation of business and government officials from Florida will visit India next month to seek Indian investments and discuss measures to enhance bilateral trade.

NEW DELHI: A delegation of business and government officials from Florida will visit India next month to seek Indian investments and discuss measures to enhance bilateral trade.

The delegation from Florida's Miami-Dade county would visit Mumbai and Delhi from October 1-6, a release from AsiaNet said on Tuesday.

"Our trade with India increased 49 per cent last year alone but we are far from where we ought to be," International Trade Consortium of Miami-Dade County Executive Director Tony Ojeda said.

Ojeda said the delegation would outline investment opportunities available in Miami-Dade and invite Indian firms to set shop in Florida.

"We are on this mission because we believe once the Indian business and government institutions understand what we have to offer, they will come and trade with us," Ojeda said.

While in India, the delegation would meet senior government officials, economic development agencies, industry chambers and business houses.
