Chennai-based Shivsu Canadian clear international has become the first Indan company to install Rs 50 crore worth desalination water plants for Oman and Egypt Governments.

CHENNAI: Chennai-based Shivsu Canadian clear international, a water technology solutions provider and manufacturer of mineral water packaging equipments, has become the first Indian company to install Rs 50 crore worth desalination water plants for Oman and Egypt Governments.

The work included design, manufacture, supply, construction and commissioning of the plants on a turnkey basis. The company is expecting more orders from the region. Two years ago, Shivsu had installed the worlds largest compact desalination plant costing Rs 250 crore in Saudi Arabia.

The Rs 30 crore plant in Egypt that converts sea water into drinking water, has an installed capacity of 20 million litre per day. It will benefit 10 lakh population.

In a release, the company said the Rs 20 crore Oman plant is for the countrys army and can supply three million litres of water per day. The two projects were completed on time and budget, it said.

Company director, Shivkumar Eashwaran said it won the order from the two Governments amidst competition from global players. Shivsus technology and shortest delivery time were the two important factors that tilted the scale in its favour.
