SRINAGAR: Welcoming the latest developments between India and Pakistan on cross-LoC trade, National Conference today said the chambers of commerce from both the countries should decide on the list of commodities that can be exchanged rather than the two governments. "We welcome the developments ... it has improved the possibilities of trade across LoC. But, the Chambers of Commerce from this side (India) and that side (Pakistan) should decide on the list of goods that can be exchanged," NC patron Farooq Abdullah said.

The Governments in India and Pakistan should not decide on the list of items to be traded, he told reporters after paying tributes to his father and NC founder Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah on his 26th death anniversary.

"The trade bodies would know better what commodities can be exchanged and they should decide... Moreover, there should be flexibility that commodities which are short on this side can be imported from other side and vice versa," the former chief minister said.
