Assocham biz team to visit Japan to invite investment in SEZs
A high-powered business delegation from India would leave for Japan tomorrow for a week-long visit to invite investment and technology from the world's second largest economy to these zones.
The over 35-member business delegation, led by chamber President Sajjan Jindal, will have interactions with Japanese Inc in Tokyo, Osaka and Yokohama for building strong trade, economic and business alliances and partnerships with large number of multi-sector SEZs.
Assocham is sending the delegation to Japan on the recommendations of the Commerce Ministry.
"Members of the Indian delegation would participate in business-to-business meetings and interact with Japanese businessmen and invite them to take advantage of the sprawling SEZs facility in India in the field of power equipment, steel value addition, environment technology, construction work, capital goods machinery, R&D, engineering and automation," Jindal said here.
SEZs offer world class infrastructure facilities and hassle-free business environment, providing huge opportunities for Japanese entrepreneurs, he said.
Apart from third country exports, investors in SEZs have an added advantage of selling their goods in huge Indian domestic market, Jindal added.
Japanese partners would have options of being co-promoter in SEZs or set up manufacturing units in SEZs, he added.
