West Bengal FM Amit Mitra invites Bengaluru investors

Amit Mitra, West Bengal's Minister of Finance, IT, Commerce and Industry, was in Bengaluru on Tues day to draw investors to the state's six new townships.

He was participating in the Inves tors Meet of the `Bengal New Township Initiative' roadshow organised by The Economic Times in associ ation with the Government of West Bengal and the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation ( HIDCO). The townships, which will be developed in Dabram, Bolpur, Asansol, Kalyani, Dumurjula and Baruipu, would be theme-based. They will focus on providing housing for the masses and creating economic opportunities, said Mitra.

Mitra promised investor-friendly policies and maximum transparency to investors. He was accompanied by Debashis Sen, chairman of HIDCO and Sudip Dutta, COO of IIDC, who is the project advisor.
