HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is in Davos to attend the ongoing World Economic Forum Summit, met several top corporate heads there to attract investments in the state.

During the AP Investment Session, Naidu gave a presentation on advantages and investment opportunities in AP. Top Indian businessmen like Adi Godrej, Prakash Hinduja, Rajeev Mittal, Atul Punj, Vinod Mittal and a Siemens' representative spoke at the session. They praised Naidu for his vision, leadership and expressed interest to invest in Andhra Pradesh, an official statement said here today.

At the session, Spanish delegates invited Naidu to visit Spain and study their bullet train model, explore smart cities and tourism model. They also told the AP delegation that they will visit Andhra Pradesh soon.

In a meeting with Global Agenda Council (GAC) India team, which comprises several top industrialists and academicians, Naidu briefed them about challenges and investment opportunities in the new state.

"The GAC team discussed about various measures for increasing the effectiveness of governance. They suggested that the capital city should have development integrated with social infrastructure for increasing the livability. The next meeting between the Core Team and AP officials is likely to be held in Abu," the statement said.

Naidu also held a meeting with Chairman of Bharat Forge, Baba N Kalyani and Executive Director Amit Kalyani.

Kalyani, during the meeting, said they are interested in investing in AP in three areas of defence technologies, especially missiles. He apprised that a pre-requisite for developing missile manufacturing units, is the eco-system around it such as a centre which will allow frequent testing which is closer to an airport.

Such testing centres require permission from AAI and state government. They requested for facilitation of such permissions, it said.

Naidu told them about the Single-Desk initiative (for clearing investment proposals) and assured of approvals within 21 days.

He suggested that Anantapur or Kurnool would be suitable for setting up facilities in defence technologies, Krishnapatnam-Yerpedu-Tirupati for investments in auto components manufacturing, an ecosystem of auto manufacturers in Sri City and Chennai, the release added.
