State Bank of India gives Rs 8,076.84 cr dividend to govt for FY25

The cheque was handed over to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman by SBI Chairman C S Setty on Monday. Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju and Finance Secretary Ajay Seth were also present during the handover.
The finance minister’s office shared the development in a post on X.
"Smt @nsitharaman receives a dividend cheque of Rs 8076.84 crore for FY 2024-25 from Shri C S Setty, Chairman-@TheOfficialSBI," the post said.
For the financial year 2024-25, SBI declared a dividend of ₹15.90 per share, higher than the ₹13.70 per equity share distributed in the previous year. Last year, SBI had paid a dividend of ₹6,959.29 crore to the government.
The bank reported a record net profit of ₹70,901 crore in 2024-25, compared to ₹61,077 crore in the previous year. This marks a 16 per cent increase in annual profit.
