Slovenian investment doesn't see 'local' issues as obstacle
KOLKATA: Slovenian companies do not forsee any major obstacle in their decision to invest in India despite recent cancellation of coal block and telecom licences.

"Every country has a issue, be it small or big. These are local issues and our dozen-odd companies operating in India are into niche areas and so don't see 'local' issues as obstacles," Slovenian Ambassdor to India Darja Bavdaz Kuret said at MCC Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

At least one Slovenian company is engaged in offering technology solutions in underground mining, a Slovenian official said.

Kuret hoped that in the coming years the Slovenia-India bilateral trade would improve despite it having dipped in 2013-14 by 15 per cent to USD 330 million.

She said the country was keen in cooperation in renewable energy, IT, defence among others.
