Self-help groups recieve Rs 15 lakh under SGSY
Over half dozen self-help groups will be benefited by the fund earmarked by the state government under the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) in Baramulla district.
Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Agency has allocated Rs 15 lakh to 10 self-help groups for setting up of their income-generating units under the scheme in the district, an official spokesman said here today.
The Azad government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 205 crore for setting up 7,925 income-generating units in Ganderbal district under credit action plan for this fiscal.
District Development Commissioner Gulam Nabi Bodha said 3,588 units were being set up under priority sector for which credit worth Rs 93.62 lakh has been sanctioned.
Under non-priority sector, a sum of Rs 100 crore is being paid as loan for setting up of 2,500 income-generating units, while Rs 11.70 crore has been sanctioned for 1,082 units in the district, Bodha said.
Meanwhile, the state fisheries department has set up 410 farm units in the private sector in frontier district of Kupwara.
According to an official spokesman, the department had also set up fish seed dumping farm in Dewer, and trout rearing unit at Bohipora in the district.
