Rs 200 cr earmarked for FRs on river links

A provision of Rs 200 crore has been earmarked in the Eleventh Plan for the completion of Feasibility Reports (FRs) of river links and pre-Feasibility Reports of intra-State river links in the country.


NEW DELHI: A provision of Rs 200 crore has been earmarked in the Eleventh Plan for the completion of Feasibility Reports (FRs) of river links and pre-Feasibility Reports of intra-State river links in the country.

In addition to these works, preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Ken-Betwa link and other priority links after the concurrence of the concerned States are to be carried out by the National Water Development Agency, an official release said today.

Based on various studies conducted, NWDA has identified 30 links (16 under Peninsular component and 14 under Himalayan component) for preparation of FRs.

Out of these, FRs of 14 links under Peninsular component and two links under (Indian portion) the Himalayan component have already been completed.
