Takru, a 1979-batch officer of the Gujarat cadre, will take over the new position from April 1 after incumbent Sumit Bose retires on March 31.

NEW DELHI: The Government today appointed senior bureaucrat and Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Takru as the new Revenue Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry.

Takru, a 1979-batch officer of the Gujarat cadre, will take over the new position from April 1 after incumbent Sumit Bose retires on March 31.

In order to fill up the position vacated by Takru, the Appointments Committee of Cabinet ( ACC) has also appointed 1980-batch Rajasthan cadre officer Gurdial Singh Sandu as the new Secretary of Financial Services. The officer is currently posted in his home state.

Apart from these two fresh appointments, the Government also made a temporary posting in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.

"The assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary Department of Pharmaceuticals in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers to Shaktikanta Das, IAS (Tamil Nadu, 1980 batch), Secretary Department of Fertilisers is effective during the period of absence on leave of Aradhana Johri, IAS (UP, 1980) from March 22-30," a government statement said.
