Punjab to organise global investors' conference in October

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government today said a global investor's conference has been scheduled to be organised in October in order to attract investment in all sectors of the state's economy.

This decision has been taken in pursuant to the approval of the fiscal incentives for industrial promotion by the Punjab government, a spokesman of the Industries and Commerce Department said here.

The spokesman said the department has decided to engage a knowledge partner for the investment campaign as well as for the global investor's conference.

He said a high-level committee has been constituted to supervise the process of the selection of the knowledge partner.

Giving detail of configuration of the committee, he said that Managing Director of Punjab Infrastructure Development Board has been made the chairperson, whereas MD Punjab Energy Development Authority, MD Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation, Chief Administrator Greater Mohali Area Development Authority and MD Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd have been inducted in the committee as members.

He said this committee would finalise the terms and conditions of the knowledge partners. It would also oversee the bid process including pre bid conference and pre qualification of bidders.

The committee would recommend the selector bidder to the government, he added.
