Puducherry govt to draw Rs 500 cr NABARD loan
Puducherry govt has sought Rs 500 crore NABARD loan for development projects in light of difficult fiscal position.
Of this amount, PWD would get Rs 50 crore to implement schemes to develop roads, drinking water supply and other amenities, he said after declaring open an Industrial Training Institute of the labour Department at Villianoor near here.
He said the purpose of opening ITIs in semi urban and villages was to achieve the government goal of developing technical skills among youth, particularly those hailing from villages. He also urged students to develop their skills and knowledge of English.
Presently government workers faced difficulty in preparing draft notes in English and hence they too need to improve their English language.
Urging civic bodies and their chairmen to use their powers to take up programmes to augment civic amenities, he said he had written to all legislators, requesting them to furnish details of pending schemes. As soon as the details were received, he would visit all segments next month to gear up various works, kandasamy said.
