The appointments committee of Cabinet approved the re-appointment in an order issued on Monday. This would be the second extension for the chairman who was given an additional one-year term last year beginning September.
"The appointments committee of Cabinet approved extension in the re-appointment of Pramod Chandra Mody as chairman, CBDT for a period of six months with effect from 01.09.2020 to 28.02.2021 or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the order from department of personnel and training stated.
