JAMMU: The District Development Board today decided to peg the annual plan for Poonch district at Rs 101.91 crore in the current fiscal.

The Board's meeting, which was presided over by its chairman and Higher Education minister Mohammad Akbar Lone, also decided to construct the Loran-Tangmarg road via Sultan Pathri for providing another link between Kashmir Valley and Poonch district, a government spokesman said.

The meeting also decided to upgrade the road from Surankote town up to Buffliaz, besides developing tourist spots around the prestigious Mughal Road.

The plan includes Rs 40 crore as revenue component and Rs 61.91 crore as capital component.

During the meeting, Lone stressed on more connectivity, the spokesman said, adding that the minister also asked for construction of necessary infrastructure along the Mughal Road for facilitating tourism activities
