NABARD has sanctioned Rs 235.63 crore to Assam for projects under RIDF

NABARD has Rs. 235.63 crore to Government of Assam for various projects under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.

GUWAHATI: National bank for agriculture & rural development ( NABARD) has Rs. 235.63 Crore to Government of Assam for various projects under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund ( RIDF).

Out of this sanction, an amount of Rs. 61.06 Crore is for construction of 100 veterinary hospitals in 20 districts; an amount of Rs. 75.82 Crore is for construction of 104 minor irrigation projects in 16 districts; an amount of Rs. 74.60 Crore is for 17 flood control projects in 14 districts; and an amount of Rs. 24.14 Crore is for construction of godowns .

These projects are expected to generate non-recurring employment of 34.50 lakh mandays during the implementation period in addition to recurring employment.

With this sanction, the RIDF assistance provided by NABARD in the State since 1995-96 has reached a cumulative amount of Rs 2596.75 Crore for various infrastructure projects.
