NABARD disbursed Rs 665.43 crore for Assam in 2015-16
National bank for agriculture &rural development (NABARD) has disbursed Rs 665.43 crore during 2015-16 for Assam.

S Natarajan, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Assam Regional Office in a statement stated that NABARD sanctioned Rs 602.36 crore to the State Government and released Rs.394.06 crore the highest ever disbursement under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund till date in Assam.
“Agri Infrastructure was the focus area with major share of 65% followed by rural connectivity at 35%. Under refinance, NABARD disbursed Rs.65.94 crore to State Cooperative Bank and Regional rural bank (RRBs) towards Short Term Seasonal Agricultural Operations,” Nabard added.
NABARD stated around 50,000 farmers have also been organised into 9750 Joint Liability Groups [JLGs] and credit linked with banks.
