The nine states under the plan are-- Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
IAP was formulated as an additional central assistance scheme on 100 per cent grant basis in November 2010 for development of areas affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE) besides tribal and backward districts.
"Integrated Action Plan initially approved for 60 districts was subsequently extended to 82 districts of nine states," Shukla said.
Under the scheme, the expenditure on Odisha was the highest during 2010-13 at Rs 1,050.59 crore (against release of Rs 1,455 crore), followed by Jharkhand Rs 964.46 crore (1,370 crore), Chhattisgarh Rs 633.70 crore (Rs 850 crore), Madhya Pradesh Rs 534.89 crore (Rs 740 crore) and Bihar at Rs 375.11 crore (Rs 635 crore), the Minister said.
The funds under the scheme are placed at the disposal of the committee headed by district collector and consisting of the superintendent of police of the district and the district forest officer.
The development commissioner/equivalent officer incharge of development in the state is responsible for scrutiny of expenditure and monitoring of the IAP in the state.
Regular monitoring of the IAP is being carried out by the Member-Secretary, Planning Commission through video conferences with the district collectors/district magistrates and development commissioner of the states concerned.
