IMF chief Strauss-Kahn to visit Delhi next week

The chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominique Strauss-Kahn will visit India on May 13 and 14.

WASHINGTON: The chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominique Strauss-Kahn will visit India on May 13 and 14.

"Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the IMF, will travel to New Delhi and Mumbai, during May 13-14," the IMF said in a statement today.

On May 13, he would meet with the top government officials in New Delhi, to exchange views on global and regional economic conditions and policies.

Strauss-Kahn would also deliver a speech and participate in a round-table discussion with eminent Indian policymakers. The event would be hosted by the Ficci.

"He will discuss the status of the global economic recovery, priorities for financial sector reform, and India's role in securing long-term global growth," the statement said.

On May 14, Strauss-Kahn would meet with top Reserve Bank officials, among others in Mumbai.
