Haryana to attract FDI worth Rs 12,000 cr: Hooda

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday described his recent five-nation visit highly successful, claiming that the "delegation had succeeded in reaping an investment of Rs 12,000 crore."
Addressing a press conference here this evening he said the delegation was able to convince the prospective investors that Haryana was an ideal destination for Foreign Direct Investment in northern India.
Investment from abroad is expected in various fields, including agriculture, floriculture, horticulture, automobile and education, he said.
The Chief Minister said with a view to consolidate the gains of this visit, an European Desk would be set up within the Investment Promotion Centre, already established by the state government in Delhi, to facilitate the flow of investment from Europe.
A Statement of Interest (SoI) was signed between Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation and Dutch Haryana Business Consortium for establishment of a European Technology Park in Haryana.

Hooda said the proposed project is expected to catalyze an initial investment of Euro 200 million (Rs 1200 crore) going upto around Euro 2 billion (Rs 12000 crore) over a period of 10 years besides generating enormous employment opportunities.Another MoU was also signed between Spyker Cars N V and Manav Rachna Education Society, Haryana for upgradation of education level of engineers and other professionals in India to international standards by providing them modern teaching and training facilities, Hooda said.
