NEW DELHI: The finance ministry approved foreign investment proposals worth Rs 23.4 billion ($578 million), including a plan from Morgan Stanley Mauritius Co to transact securities through its units.

Morgan Stanley plans to invest more than Rs 18.9 billion in India for broking, merchant banking and corporate advisory services, the state-run Press Information Bureau said in an e-mailed statement.
