Government seeks Parliament's nod for Rs 11,698 crore additional expenditure
The government is seeking Parliament's nod to spend Rs 1,791.62 crore for the Agriculture Ministry, Rs 1,500 crore of the Textiles Ministry and Rs 1,057.84 crore for the Defence Ministry.

The net cash outgo in the first batch of the supplementary demands for grants tabled in the Lok Sabha isRs 5,951 crore. The balance Rs 5,746 crore spending is matched by savings or enhanced receipts/recoveries of ministries and departments.
The agriculture ministry will get Rs 1792 crore for subsidy and crop residue management while the textiles ministry gets Rs 1,500 crore for meeting additional expenditure towards other charges under Remission of State Levies (RoSL) Scheme. The commerce ministry gets Rs 500 crore to meet additional subsidy liability and the home affairs will get Rs 716 crore for meeting expenditure on space infrastructure.
Technical supplementary demand includes allocation to Air India and ministry of defence for meeting additional spending on salaries.
AI will get Rs 980 crore under the Turnaround Plan, according to the document tabled in the Lok Sabha for first supplementary demand for grants for 2018-19. Petroleum will get Rs 1,703 crore for creating capital assets.
