Geojit BNP Paribas launches its Qualified Foreign Investors investment service
To attract Arab investors to Indian stock market the Geojit BNP Paribas has launched its Qualified Foreign Investors (QFI) investment service.
KOCHI: In an attempt to attract Arab investors to Indian stock market Geojit BNP Paribas has on Thursday launched its Qualified Foreign Investors ( QFI) investment service.
As a Qualified Depository Participant (QDP) across two depositories namely, CDSL and NSDL, the company will cater to the investment needs of foreign investors through its network of joint ventures in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Recently, Geojit had in alliance with Finance ministry of the Government of India, conducted road shows in Dubai, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. "The road show titled "India - the Incredible investment destination" evinced interest in several high net worth Arab investors", C J George said. "In the context of the global financial turmoil, the Indian economy offers tremendous long term investment opportunity to foreign investors", he said. Through the QFI route, both institutional and retail investors can invest in Indian stock, bond and mutual fund market. Investors from 45 countries can enter via the QFI route.
