NEW DELHI: The government on Friday sought parliament’s approval for the third and final batch of the supplementary demand for grants for the current fiscal entailing a net cash outgo of Rs 14,786 crore.

It has sought approval for gross additional expenditure of Rs 11.35 lakh crore that will be matched by savings made by ministries and departments besides enhanced receipts and recoveries.

An additional Rs 3,293 crore has been sought for the payment of arrears stemming from the Seventh Central Pay Commission award and One Rank One Pension (OROP) arrears as well as Rs 3,500 crore toward the price stabilisation fund. Of the Rs 11.35 lakh crore, Rs 10.84 lakh crore is for repayment of debt, which includes buyback and switching of treasury bonds.

The government has also sought approval for transferring Rs 5,203 crore from the Krishi Kalyan cess to the Krishi Kalyan Kosh and also for the transfer of Rs 5,889 crore of unclaimed money to the Senior Citizen Welfare Fund.
