Five CPSEs pay Rs 1,203 crore dividend to government

Five Central public sector entities have paid Rs 1,203 crore as dividend to the government, new data showed.

Following the latest tranche, the total dividend payouts by public sector enterprises to the Central government now stands at Rs 14,778 crore for this fiscal.

These entities include SAIL, HUDCO and IRCTC.


Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), tweeted, "Government has respectively received about Rs 604 crore, Rs 450 crore and Rs 37 crore from SAIL, HUDCO and IREL as dividend tranches."

In addition to this, the government has also received Rs 81 crore and Rs 31 crore from IRCTC and Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Ltd respectively as dividend tranches, Pandey said in another tweet.

DIPAM deals with all matters pertaining to management of Central government investments in equity, including in equity of CPSEs.

The four major areas of DIPAM's work relates to strategic disinvestment, minority stake sales, asset monetisation, and capital restructuring.

It also deals with all matters relating to sale of Central government equity through offer for sale or private placement or any other mode in the erstwhile CPSEs.
