India's divestment secretary on Wednesday urged private firms to declare fair dividends to minority shareholders and asked mutual funds to include public sector undertaking stocks in their portfolio.

State-run firms gave a record dividend of 1.5 trillion rupees ($17.33 billion) in financial 2025, the secretary said, adding that the government received 740.17 billion rupees from the public sector undertaking stocks as dividends during the period. ($1 = 86.5800 Indian rupees)
