Centre sanctions 470.20 crore for six road projects in Assam

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 470.20 crore for six road projects in Assam, official sources said here today.

GUWAHATI: The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 470.20 crore for six road projects in Assam, official sources said here today.

The Centre has sanctioned the work for two laning of Lumding-Diphu-Manja road, Haflong-Jatinga road, Baska-Bamara road, Morigaon-Jagiroad road, Kokrajhar-Karigaon road and Udalguri-Rowta road in the state.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Kamal Nath in a letter written to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that following their last meeting in New Delhi recently, the Centre has decided to sanction Rs 470.20 crore for the projects.

The state public works department will be the executing agency of the project, sources added.
