Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to consider tax holidays for infrastructure investments
Gogoi said entire India is lagging behind on infrastructure compared to other nations and North East is lagging even further.

"We will definitely consider giving tax holidays sympathetically to investments in the infrastructure sector," Gogoi said at an Infrastructure Conclave organised here by industry chamber PHDCCI.
Seeking investments in the state, the chief minister said the industry should take risk as the one who takes risk always rise.
Gogoi said entire India is lagging behind on infrastructure compared to other nations and North East is lagging even further.
"So we have to move faster compared to other states. There is a lot of scope in NE as we are lagging behind," he added.
"The British had developed road and water connectivity in NE. But after partition, all connectivities were discontinued," he said, adding that the state government is now focusing on developing water networks.
The Chief Minister also invited businessmen to invest in education sector.
Gogoi requested the industry to have a long-term vision, like for 40-50 years, instead of going for short-term goals for 4-5 years.
