Annual plan to be based on development schemes: Rajinder Bhandari

CHANDIGARH: The Annual Plan of Punjab for the year 2014-15 would be centered on the development and welfare schemes.

A sizeable amount of budget would be earmarked in the Plan for executing welfare and development activities in the state, said Rajinder Bhandari, Vice Chairperson of the Punjab State Planning Board here today.

Bhandari presided over the meetings held with various departments to chalk out the framework of the Annual Plan for the year 2014-15.

He directed the officers of the different departments to give priority to the development and welfare schemes in their planning part.

Bhandari held discussion with the senior officers of 21 departments in various meeting conducted from November 13-15.

A blueprint of the Annual Plan 2014-15 is to be submitted to the Planning Commission of India by December 31, 2013.
