VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh government is expecting investment of Rs 2 lakh crore with signing of more than 100 memorandums of understanding at the 22nd edition of CII Partnership Summit here from January 10-12, a senior official said.

Addressing a press conference here today, secretary, Andhra Pradesh industries department, S S Rawat, said the MoUs would be signed in sectors such as infrastructure, information technology, tourism, manufacturing, involving Rs 2 lakh crore investment.

As many as 1,400 delegates, including 350 from 41 countries, will be attending the summit.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the summit tomorrow.

Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha, Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary will also be in attendance.

The key-note address will be delivered by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Meanwhile, the city police have stepped up security for the summit.

The police have been coordinating with Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy and coastal security police (CSP) (Marine Cops) for on shore and off shore security.

City police commissioner Amit Garg said that after the Pathankot terror attack, additional measures are being taken to avoid any untoward incidents.

Around 8,000 personnel will be deployed, while 2,000 personnel, including top officials, will be at the main venue for the event.

Police have installed 30 CCTV's at the APIIC grounds - the main venue, where a command centre has been established which would monitor the traffic as well as security over there.

Another 47 CCTV's are installed at major junctions here.

"An advisory note - which will have do's and dont's. contact number of nearest police station and other similar instructions - will be given to the delegates and others taking part in the summit", Garg said.

12 check-posts have been arranged on the entry and exit points here, police added.
