Adi Godrej reacts to Rajeev Chandrasekhar's criticism of CII

CII president Adi Godrej reacted sharply to Rajya Sabha MP and former telecom entrepreneur Rajeev Chandrasekhar's criticism of industry chambers for the current stone-cold investment climate.

CII president Adi Godrej reacted sharply to Rajya Sabha MP and former telecom entrepreneur Rajeev Chandrasekhar's criticism of industry chambers for the current stone-cold investment climate.

"For many years, industry and bodies like CII and FICCI have been bland cheerleaders to government policymaking instead of doing a bit of brave critiquing in addition to the cheerleading. So the chickens have come home to roost," Chandrasekhar had said in an online discussion on the state of the economy and government on Thursday. Incidentally, Chandrasekhar is a former FICCI president.

"Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar is a politician. And politicians believe in critiques and criticism (while) businessmen believe in continuous improvements," Godrej said in response on Friday.
