About Rs 6,000 crore as revenue from stamp duty, registration in TN

Chairing a meeting with senior officials of the department, the minister said the receipts from stamp duty and registration was Rs 8,055.74 crore during 2013-14 fiscal against the target of Rs 9221.98 crore.

A total of Rs 104 crore has been allocated for constructing buildings to house over 175 department offices, he said.
Detailing on the steps taken to computerise operations of the department, he said a total of 31,41,896 searches have been made by the general public since the launch of free search for for encumbrance certificates for their property on June 11 last year to January 12 this year.
