50% of total plan outlay spent in Bihar till Q3 of 2011-12

A sum of Rs 12,083 crore was spent out of the total plan outlay of Rs 24,000 crore at the close of the third quarter in 2011-12 fiscal.

PATNA: Fifty per cent of the total plan outlay was utilised till the end of the third quarter of 2011-12 fiscal in Bihar, according to the state's outcome budget report.

A sum of Rs 12,083 crore was spent out of the total plan outlay of Rs 24,000 crore at the close of the third quarter in 2011-12 fiscal, said the report which was tabled in both houses of state legislature by the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi yesterday.

The amount registered a rise of 8.94 per cent compared to the expenditure in the corresponding period last year.

According to the report, the governemtn's internal resources of Rs 8,403 crore in the third quarter is a rise of 26 per cent from the period last year.

The report said the commercial tax department generated Rs 4,106 crore in the third quarter which was 24 per cent increase over that of the corresponding period previous year.

The transport department has also increased its revenue base by 24.24 per cent compared to the same period of 2010-11.
