Wheat procurement touches 245.7 lt

NEW DELHI: With purchase of the foodgrain picking up in Bihar, the procurement of wheat has reached 245.7 lakh tonnes so far in the 2009-10 season.

Bihar contributed 32,723 tonnes till Thursday to the central pool. The government, so far, picked up 55,360 tonnes of wheat from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand of the total arrival of 57,987 tonnes.
