The estimate is higher than last year's 97.7 mt, said Agriwatch CEO Santosh Jhanwar, adding that the estimate is a result of two rounds of field surveys, weather analysis and remote sensing data analysis from nine states and 80 districts across the country.
While Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness a growth in wheat production, Haryana and West Bengal are expected to see a loss of 11.1% and 4.3% respectively over the previous crop year, 2021-22. Punjab is also expected to see a marginal rise of 0.6% year-on-year, according to an Agriwatch report commissioned by the Roller Flour Millers Federation.
