Wheat arrivals begin in Haryana

Six government procuring agencies in Haryana have purchased the entire arrival of 24,108 tonnes of wheat till Monday.

AHMEDABAD: Six government procuring agencies in Haryana have purchased the entire arrival of 24,108 tonnes of wheat till Monday.

" 11,593 metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by Food and Supplies Department and 7242 metric tonnes by HAFED. The CONFED purchased 3444 metric tonnes of wheat, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 1251 metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 332 metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India procured 246 metric tonnes of wheat," said a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department .

The agencies were purchasing wheat at a rate of Rs 1285 per quintal, whereas last year it was Rs 1120 per quintal.
