India will launch national mission for high-yielding seeds, said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech on Saturday. She also said a 'Makhana Board' will be established in Bihar to improve production and processing of fox nut.

Additionally, a five-year mission was announced to promote cotton production in the country.



The finance minister also said the government will bring enabling framework for sustaining harvest of fisheries sector in exclusive economic zones and high seas.
