Tea garden announces suspension of work

JALPAIGURI: The managemnt of New Dooars Tea Garden at Banrhat in Jalpaiguri district has put up a notice announcing suspension of work, official sources said.

Tea garden workers found the notice pasted on the main gate when they reported for work today.

Altogether 1768 casual and permanent workers were employed in the garden.

The tea garden owners could not be contacted. Incidentally, December 15 is observed as International Tea Day.

To mark the International Tea Day, Patkapara Tea Garden at Alipurduar will host cultural programmes.
