State to survey incomplete irrigation projects, says minister

Maharashtra water resources minister Sunil Tatkare said here today that his department would survey incomplete irrigation projects in the Nashik revenue division which comprises Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts.

NASHIK: Maharashtra water resources minister Sunil Tatkare said here today that his department would survey incomplete irrigation projects in the Nashik revenue division which comprises Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts.

He was addressing a meeting of water resources department officials of the five districts at the government guest house here today.

He said that water shortage in Godavari and Tapi valleys create problems and there was need to take a policy decision on the issue. He asked the water resources department to submit its survey report to the state cabinet, so that the matter could be placed before the Maharashtra government after cabinet approval.
