MUMBAI: Unseasonal rains in the last two-three days in Maharashtra have damaged crops and orchards, causing a loss of about Rs 1,000 crore, an official said here today.

Final figures are not yet available and this is an estimate, the official added.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the situation with officials today, and asked them to conduct panchnama (spot inspection) of the damaged crops and submit reports.

The Chief Minister, who also reviewed the swine flu situation, said patients will get free treatment even at private hospitals, the cost of which would be reimbursed by the government.
