JAIPUR: Rajasthan government will bear the cost of partial damage caused to wheat grains and farmers would be paid the minimum support price of Rs 1,450 per quintal without any deduction.

Under calamity relief measures, the state government would pay Rs 7.25 per quintal for partial damaged or half-cut pieces of wheat grains assessed in the range from 6 to 9 per cent, according to an official statement here.

Similarly for wheat grains having low glare of 10 to 50 per cent, the state government would match the relief by Rs 3.63 per quintal on MSP to farmers.

Presently the FCI and state agencies are purchasing the partially damaged wheat at MSP of Rs 1,450 after deducting the loss from farmers whose rabi crop was ravaged due to unseasonal hailstorm and rains in February and March.
