Over 56 lakh tonne wheat procured in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Over 56.76 lakh tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in grain markets of Haryana during the current procurement season.

A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said out of it, over 56.68 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by the Government agencies at the minimum support price and 7,490 tonnes of wheat has been purchased by the private millers and traders.

He said HAFED has procured over 21.90 lakh tonnes of wheat, Food and Supplies over 14.13 lakh tonnes, Food Corporation of India over 7.06 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 5.46 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 5.14 lakh tonnes and CONFED had purchased 2.96 lakh tonnes of wheat.
