The National Conference on Cooperatives (NCC) on Sunday said there was a need to raise the loan waiver limit to farmers, announced by the UPA government, from five to 10 hectares of cultivable land, and incentives provided to those who are regular...
"There is also a need to formulate a long term policy of incentive for those who are regular and timely in paying their dues," Rajasthan Cooperative Minister N S Gurjar told a press conference here.
A two-day conference attended by the Cooperative Ministers made a resolution demanding that the UPA government come out with a new export policy under which export of food commodities be restricted only to the surplus available after meeting domestic demand, Gurjar said.
In an 18-point resolution, the NCC stressed that the farmers' assets and properties mortgaged or transferred to cooperative sector units be documented, he said.
Considering the unprecedented boom in reality sector, NCC suggested that the cooperative sector should enter into housing sector keeping its importance, he said.
