MP building steel silos for foodgrain storage in 9 districts
This would increase foodgrain storage capacity in Madhya Pradesh by 2.50 lakh MT, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Vijay Shah said.

"The steel silos for storing foodgrains are being constructed for the first time in the country at Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Vidisha, Sehore, Harda, Hoshangabad and Satna districts through public-private-partnership," Shah said, speaking to reporters here.
"This initiative is being praised at the national and the international levels and other states too are implementing it," the minister said.
It would increase foodgrain storage capacity in Madhya Pradesh by 2.50 lakh MT, he said.
The minister also said that the union ministry of chemicals and fertilisers had chosen the Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation for the fourth national award for technology innovation, 2013-14 for this initiative.
He also mentioned that the state government had provided foodgrains (wheat, rice and salt) at Rs one per kg to 3.88 crore people under the Food Security Act, 2013.
