Monsoon to revive temporarily after June 26
The weather department has forecast that the monsoon will revive temporarily only after June 26. The central, eastern and north eastern pars will get good rainfall while the interior parts will be deficient in rains.
PUNE: The weather department has forecast that the monsoon will revive temporarily only after June 26. The central, eastern and north eastern pars will get good rainfall while the interior parts will be deficient in rains.
According to the IMD website, rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over west coast, northeastern states and
West Bengal & Sikkim. Rain/thundershowers would also occur at a few places over Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa,
Chhattisgarh, east Uttar Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Vidarbha and remaining parts of south peninsular India. Weather would be mainly dry over rest of the country.
The onset of the monsoon this year was delayed by four days. After the weak onset, the progress has been very slow. Weather scientists have pointed out that the northward progress of the monsoon after its onset over the Southern tip of the country has been slowing down. The current year has not been an exception to this trend. However, the met department has forecast good rainfall in July.
