Mizo body wants place in markets for vegetable growers
Delegates of the general conference of the Young Mizo Association urged the Mizoram government to make arrangements so that local vegetable growers get proper places in the markets to sell their produces in Aizawl.
The delegates yesterday decided that the central committee of the YMA should convey the resolution to the government.
The YMA also decided to make concerted efforts to protect and preserve wildlife and forests and cooperate the government in its efforts.
The resolutions also included a resolve to make the state beggar-free and creation of mass awareness regarding implementation of the national rural employment guarantee scheme being implemented in four districts of the state.
Thousands of young people attended the conference, the largest gathering of youths in the state, which began from Tuesday.
YMA has branches not only in the state but also in neighbouring states like Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
