Maharashtra imposes limits on stocking pulses, edible oils
Municipal Corporations retailers can stock up to only 200 quintals, while in Municipal councils they could store up to 150 quintals.

Henceforth wholesale traders in Municipal corporation would be able to stock up to 3500 quintals, while whole sale traders in Municipal Councils would be able to stock 2500 quintals of pulses. In smaller Municipal councils traders could stock only up to 1500 quintals.
Retail Traders have also been set limits, in Municipal Corporations retailers can stock up to only 200 quintals, while in Municipal councils they could store up to 150 quintals. The same limits have been set for retailers in smaller Municipal councils too.
Similarly limits have been imposed on stocking oil seeds too. Wholesale traders in Municipal Corporations have been told that they cannot store more than 2000 quintals (of unshelled ground nuts), where retailers have been given a limit of 200 quintals. Similarly in Municipal Council whole sale traders have been prohibited from not stocking more than 800 quintals, retailers here have been given a limit of 100 quintals.
Limits have also been imposed on stocking all kinds of edible oils. In Municipal corporations wholesalers have been prohibited from exceeding 1,000 quintals, while retailers have been permitted to stock only 40 quintals of edible oil. In another Municipal Councils wholesalers could stock only up to 300 quintals while retailers could stock up to 20 quintals of edible oil.
