There are about 1.75 lakh cattle in the cattle camps. These 13 talukas fall in the perennially drought-prone areas of the state.

Maharashtra gives extension to the cattle camps in the state till September 30
PUNE: Due to deficient rainfall in parts of the state, Maharashtra cabinet decided to give extension to the cattle camps till September 30.

Cattle camps are still operating in the 13 talukas of Baramati, Indapur and Daund in Pune district, Faltan, Man, Khatao in Satara, Jat, Atpadi, Kavathe Mahakal and Tasgaon in Sangli district and Sangola, Mangalvedha and Pandharpur in Solapur district.

There are about 1.75 lakh cattle in the cattle camps. These 13 talukas fall in the perennially drought-prone areas of the state. Water is being supplied by 1042 tankers to 823 villages and 4320 habitations in the state. The number of tankers has increased slightly as compared to the previous week.
