Madhya Pradesh seeks higher fertliser allocation

The Madhya Pradesh government has sought increased allocation of all varieties of fertilisers to the tune of 68 lakh tonnes, it said.

NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan today met Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and sought higher fertiliser allocation and levelling of ravines in the state for farming purpose.

"The issues that were discussed included increased allocation of fertiliser, levelling of ravines and their development for cultivation and release of balanced relief package as per norms," an official release said.

The Madhya Pradesh government has sought increased allocation of all varieties of fertilisers to the tune of 68 lakh tonnes, it said.

After the discussion, the Agriculture Minister asked the Chief Minister to send a proposal for levelling of ravines for agriculture purpose, the release added.

He also said that the vision document on agriculture prepared by the state government should also cover fisheries and dairy sector as per the existing programmes of run by the National Fisheries development Board and National Dairy Development Board.
